Hi, I’m Angela, from Motherwell and now living in Abington. I grew up watching my mum help neighbours, care for the elderly, and brighten the lives of everyone around her. After she passed away, there was always a calling to carry on her legacy. I volunteered locally from soup kitchens to waitressing at local Christmas events, then late 2013 I volunteered as a befriender with a local charity pairing with an amazing lady who then became a big part of my life. In 2022 my dad suffered a stroke and I needed a change in my career, walking away from the corporate world to care for my dad and find a new path, I found myself as a carer in the local community, the rewarding job I was simply meant to do.
Sadly my befriender passed away in 2024 then a few months later my dad suffered another stroke that he couldn't survive. The experiences I have shared with both my parents, and my befriender, have shaped me deeply. They taught me patience, compassion, and the importance of genuine connection. They’re also what inspired me to start The Kinfolk Company — a way to offer others the same care, trust, and warmth that has been such a big part of my own journey.
