Hi, I’m Angela, originally from Motherwell and now living in Abington. I grew up watching my mum care for neighbours, support the elderly, and brighten the lives of everyone around her. After she passed away, I felt a strong calling to continue her legacy.
I began volunteering locally — from soup kitchens to helping at Christmas events — and in 2013 became a befriender with a charity, where I was paired with an amazing woman who soon became a cherished part of my life.
When my dad suffered a stroke in 2022, I stepped away from the corporate world to care for him and to find a new path. That journey led me to becoming a carer in my community, a role I quickly realised I was meant to do.
In 2024, I faced the heartbreaking loss of both my befriender and, shortly after, my dad. The experiences I shared with them, and with my mum before them, shaped me deeply. They taught me patience, compassion, and the value of genuine human connection.
These lessons — and their legacy — inspired me to create The Kinfolk Company: a way to offer others the same care, trust, and warmth that have guided my own journey.
